ACTion with Communities in Cumbria are currently working on behalf of the National Trust to engage local residents on how they would like to see Wordsworth House and Gardens used in the future.
The consultation, taking place over three months from September to December, will look to engage residents from Cockermouth and surrounding areas through a variety of methods, including surveys, open days, and creative focus groups.
All feedback and ideas will be welcomed and considered, including suggestions for creative or very different ways of using the space, as well as those which seek to preserve its current model of operation.
The National Trust will not be closing Wordsworth House and Gardens. The purpose of this work is to gather community views on how this much-loved site may be able to better serve the needs and interests of local residents in the future. The results of this engagement will be used alongside other consultation work to help develop a new model for the site.
