Funded by The Copeland Community Fund, we’re working alongside community groups in rural Copeland to support local ideas, strengthen community life and help rural places thrive.
The project will focus on:
- Building social connections and tackling loneliness, to improve wellbeing
- Making the most of Village halls & community assets
- Improving access to affordable, healthy food
- Exploring ways to utilise community transport and improving access to services, including Banks and Post Offices
If your group knows what would make a difference locally, we’d like to hear from you. We can work with communities in rural Copeland to:
- enable them to develop their own ideas
- utilise local strengths and address the challenges they face
- help engage with local people, to enable them to identify local priorities and aspirations
- build capacity to meet them
Each participating community will have access to a small development fund to help get things moving and turn local ideas into practical action.
We’re already working in Drigg, Ennerdale, St Bees and Frizington and we have a few more places available so if your community group is based in rural Copeland and has an idea, a local challenge you want to explore, or simply wants to find out more, please get in touch.
